Hello! :)
I don't know who will be reading this blog so i figure I should introduce myself..
My name is Sarah, I'm 24.7 years old. I have a cat named Nigel (he's my baby!!) and a fiance (soon to be husband!!) who has Aspergers syndrome. I love music, rainbows and all things purple.
So here's the story...
Last week I got a phone call from my doctor (on a Friday night while I was at work alone of course!) telling me she had received my blood results and my sugar levels were ridiculously high (19.6 for those of you who understand it). She asked me to go to the clinic and get further tests done, so I went in only to find out I was being admitted to hospital because I do in fact have Diabetes (my BS were a whopping 30 by then!) and they needed to sort my medication out. Needless to say I was less than thrilled with this but we do what we gotta do right?
So, long story short, I have Diabetes, I went to hospital, we got the ball rolling on my medication and now we see how it goes.. Basically this blog is to document my journey with the whole thing, although I will be posting other stuff like exciting things and about what it's like living with an Aspie! I'd love to hear everyone's feedback on anything I post here but please don't be offended if I don't take your advice as this is a very difficult time for me and I am still trying to figure things out with my doctor/nurses. :)
Just before I end my first post I'd love to take this opportunity to thank Renee (A Shoe that Fits) and her husband Glen for being the most fantastic supportive friends that Matt (my partner) and myself ever could have asked for! I certainly couldn't have made it through my stay at the Hilton Hamilton (haha!) without your help!
Alright so word on the street is there may be another post coming soon...
Much love,
Sarah xo
